The unprecedented energy and fuel crisis striking the peninsula has plunged more than two million people into total chaos. This state of panic is not a retreat; it is the devastating result of a methodical strangulation operation directly targeting Russian military and civilian presence.
The Evacuation Pipeline Burst: A 48 Kilometer Nightmare
Field data shows that the 48 kilometer long traffic jam forming along the Kerch Strait Bridge route is not a mere logistical glitch, but physical evidence of a historic collapse. On peak days, the number of vehicles waiting in front of the bridge reached 2,800, while traffic flows in only one direction outbound reflecting the strategic collapse on the ground. Water pumps stopped, ATM networks were wiped out as cash carrying vehicles ran out of fuel, and crops in the fields were left to wither without diesel. In settlements in Northern Crimea that have been without electricity for more than ten days, civilian infrastructure has completely collapsed.
The shortage is crippling not only civilians but also the security bureaucracy.
While gasoline sales to civilians in Sevastopol have been completely halted, the limited fuel supply is being directed exclusively to vehicles with official license plates. This is not a logistical choice, but a ruthless message from the regime: the military comes first, the people second. Across the border in the Kuban, gasoline riots have effectively erupted; clashes are taking place between Crimean refugees and Cossack forces guarding the gas stations.
