In just 48 hours, the six vital bridges connecting Russia’s Crimea to its southern front were completely DESTROYED. This flawless operation has pushed 110,000 Russian soldiers into a logistical death trap, effectively severing the lifelines of the southern front.
The Flawless Trap
The steel and concrete infrastructure that kept Putin’s southern front afloat is now nothing but a pile of rubble. Between June 9 and 10, Ukrainian forces DESTROYED the Henichesk and Chongar bridges the backbone of Russian military logistics in simultaneous attacks. Immediately afterward, on June 11, four alternative bridges along the Armyansk Perekop line were also submerged in the water by violent explosions.
This operation, the product of systematic and ruthless military strategy, demonstrates Kiev’s strategic acumen. Ukrainian forces first struck Chongar twice, forcing Russian convoys to divert to alternative routes. The moment Russian command panicked and changed course, the targeted alternative bridges were also struck. In the final stage, all remaining escape routes were sealed off. Currently, 50,000 Russian troops in southern Ukraine and 60,000 in Crimea are TRAPPED within a massive ring of fire, completely cut off from ammunition and fuel supplies.

Drone Swarms and Blinded Radars
Behind this strategic masterpiece lies the flawless intelligence work of Ukraine’s deep-strike capable unmanned systems units. The Henichesk bridge over the Tonka Strait which serves as a vital rear gateway for Russian armored units advancing across the Arabat Spit was struck by kamikaze drones and precision-guided systems. Ukrainian special operations units recorded Russian patrol schedules down to the second using satellite data weeks before the attack. By identifying the blind spots of the Pantsir-S1 air defense batteries tasked with protecting the target, an almost invisible air corridor was created for the drones.
The operation targeting the Chongar Bridge, however, was carried out using a far more sophisticated doctrine. The Phalanx Multi-Domain Operations Center and the 475th Separate Assault Regiment, known as “CODE 9.2”, executed a joint operation plan for this historic mission. Advanced Ukrainian-made FP-2 kamikaze drones manipulated electronic warfare frequencies, appearing on Russian radar screens as nothing more than wind gusts. By the time enemy sensors detected this deadly storm, it was already too late. This structure rising over the Syvash Lagoon was split in two by a series of violent explosions.

Logistical Paralysis and Panic on the Front Lines
The destruction of the bridges created an immediate ripple effect along the front lines. Large Russian convoys carrying BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launchers and S-300 air defense munitions turned into massive targets in front of the destroyed Henichesk bridge. Artillery shells are running out at Russian positions in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions.
Critical units, such as the 37th Motorized Infantry Brigade, which is directly supplied via Chongar, were suddenly left without resupply. Even Russian military police units tasked with maintaining order in the region are struggling under the grip of a severe fuel crisis. Russian battalions forced into static defensive positions along the Melitopol and Tokmak axes have lost their mobility. Unable to move their armored vehicles or receive artillery support, these units are essentially waiting for death in their trenches. This CHAOS engulfing the Russian command structure is fundamentally shaking the resistance of the entire southern defense line.

Perekop Death Trap
Ukraine’s strategic masterstroke has cut off the last remaining lifeline. The Armyansk-Perekop narrow passage corridor, just 5 to 7 kilometers wide and nearly impossible to maneuver through, came under intense fire for four hours on the night of June 10–11. Ukrainian forces DESTROYED the main highway bridge connected to the M17 highway, two critical bridges near Preobrazhenka and Myrne, and the alternative crossing near Stavky. Even Russian occupation official Vladimir Saldo was forced to confirm this crushing defeat.
The Crimean Peninsula is now a region completely isolated from the mainland in terms of military logistics. While civilians have switched to a QR code system to obtain gasoline, military fuel tankers are waiting in vain on the ruined roads. Russian logistics are now reliant solely on the Kerch Bridge and under-capacity ferries in the Black Sea, where naval drones roam freely. However, Ukraine’s Sea Baby and Magura V5-type explosive-laden unmanned surface vessels have already turned the Black Sea into a graveyard for the Russian navy, just as they did in 2023 and 2024.
Collapse Is Inevitable
The destruction of these six bridges is far more than a tactical victory; it is the actual COLLAPSE of Russia’s military presence on the southern front. The complete loss of mobility for armored units has entirely eliminated any possibility of a Russian counteroffensive. Kyiv has not only pushed the front line but has also brought the war directly into the heart of Crimea the enemy’s so-called “backyard,” which they believed to be their safest haven.
This flawless “logistical isolation and fire control” strategy employed by the Ukrainian army is crushing the enemy under its own weight without the need for a major ground offensive. The Russian army’s escape routes are closing one by one. Operational initiative on the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson fronts is now entirely in the hands of Ukrainian offensive units. The data clearly shows that this war, which began in Crimea, will end in Crimea on the ruins of a defeated Russian army.
